Programme Schedule

Flashpoint Summer Edition 2015 will take place in July 2015. Depending on your school’s availability, you can choose between two sets of dates:

Session 1: 20–31 July 2015

Dates Programme
20–24 July, 2015 Training week 1: 4 hour training sessions on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
27–31 July, 2015 Training week 2: 4 hour training sessions on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
29–30 August, 2015 Two-day Tournament: All schools will gather in one venue to compete in a two-day tournament, with top-quality judging by school teachers, national team coaches and members.

Date Set 2: 17–28 August 2015

17–21 August, 2015 Training week 1: 4 hour training sessions on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
24–28 August, 2015 Training week 2: 4 hour training sessions on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
29–30 August, 2015 Two-day Tournament: All schools will gather in one venue to compete in a two-day tournament, with top-quality judging by school teachers, national team coaches and members.

Schools are also welcome to choose between two time slots every day, either the 10am to 2pm slot, or the 1pm – 5pm slot. This choice is presented in the application forms. A sample daily schedule is available below:

10:00 – 11:00 Introduction to debate styles(With assistance of the World Schools Debating Manual)ORIntroduction to Subject Area(With assistance of knowledge packs e.g. The economy and the environment; or Hong Kong politics)
11:00 – 12:00 Debate preparation(Tutors will be guiding preparation by creating pointer questions)
 12:00 – 13:00  Debate
 13:00 – 14:00  Debate feedback
